Grief Docent Program

June 20 is the Summer Solstice  marking the longest day of the year and the official beginning of summer, we also honor a time of growth, renewal, and abundance. Historically, the summer solstice has been a significant event for many cultures, symbolizing fertility, prosperity, and the power of the sun. It's a perfect moment to embrace new beginnings and dive into the vibrant energy of the season.

Here at The Queen’s Collective Birthing,  we offer a variety of products and services to support women through pregnancy, birth, and loss. I am the founder Racquel and I’m an advocate to my core, always passionate about providing support and sharing knowledge. I believe that when we’re armed with the right information, we can make better decisions and feel more confident in the choices we make.

I would say my journey into herbalism began when I was pregnant and looking for natural remedies to manage common pregnancy issues without relying on pharmaceuticals. I wanted to ensure the best for my baby and myself, which led me to explore the world of herbs. After my son was born, my curiosity didn’t stop. I started experimenting with herbal skincare, which eventually led to the creation of The Prince's Gold Product line. This line focuses on gentle and natural skincare for babies, including baby wash, baby oil, and diaper cream. Slowly, my apothecary grew from a single shelf and a few plastic bags of herbs into something much more substantial. It’s been a journey of growth, for sure, and I’ve loved every moment of it.

One of our earliest and most cherished remedies is the onions in socks remedy. It’s simple, effective, gentle and safe for all ages and a great introduction to the power of herbal medicine. This method truly opened my eyes to the incredible possibilities of natural ingredients.

Then came COVID-19. Like many of you, I found myself with more time at home and a renewed focus on keeping my family safe and healthy. I dug even deeper into herbalism, discovering just how much medicine was right there in my backyard. It felt like these plants were calling out to me, waiting to be used and appreciated.

I have been  sharing my love for herbalism through handmade herbal products and now I am inviting you to learn with me! I have learned so much along my journey and  I’m committed to helping others explore and benefit from the natural world around us. If you’re in Charlotte, NC, I’d love for you to join us for our “Hot Girl Summer” series! It’s a 7-part herbalism course designed to folks to take control of their health and wellness through natural means. Whether you’re new to herbalism or looking to deepen your knowledge, there’s something for everyone.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Herbalism has been a transformative experience for me, and I hope it can be for you too. Let’s learn, grow, and heal together as we embrace the warmth and energy of summer!
